New Homepage and New Features

Hey WeGamers,

Today we present you with an exciting update. The team has been working on a lot of cool new things for the site and this update is just a glimpse of what is to come.

New Homepage Design
We decided to update the look of our homepage to improve the user experience. The new homepage consists of 2 entirely unique designs: one for logged-in users and one for guest/not logged-in users. By doing this, we will be able to add new features to cater to our core user base without overwhelming or alienating new users. We would love to hear your feedback. Post your comments in our offical forum thread or e-mail us at feedback@wegame.com.

Standard Defintion / High Definition Video Toggle
Some users have reported that our videos load slow for them on their internet connections. To fix this problem, we now encode a standard definition version of the video along with the high definition version (we previously only had an HD version). In order to toggle between SD and HD versions of the video, simply click the HD button in the video player:

If the video does not have an HD version, the button will be grayed it. The WeGame video player will remember your quality setting, so you do not need to set it for every video.

Miscellaneous Speed Optimizations
We are currently improving the speed of various parts of the site. This update included some speed optimizations, but expect more to come!

Thanks again,
The WeGame Team

  • Great!
Now you only need to delete the bottom bar, and remove “Friends Online” to the new wall thing in the left side. That would be great.

  • Yay update!

Blue or white HD button, which is the “HD enabled” state? Couldn’t really make out the difference on the videos I watched. Maybe replace it with a crossed out one (like muted audio)?

  • Blue [HD] button indicates HD playback.

White [HD] button indicates lower resolution version with faster loading time.

Grey indicates HD playback not available, though if the video was uploaded in HD (perhaps before WeGame supported HD playback) you may still be able to download the original to watch it at best quality.
