Video Upload Game – Last Week’s Winners

Yesterday was the end of our weekly video upload contest. We had some great videos uploaded and it got pretty competitive near the end! Hopefully everyone enjoyed participating :) As we’ve announced in our last blog post, we have changed the Weekly contest to a Daily contest, so be sure to participate every day for a chance to win!

Note: We fixed a bug in the system where videos uploaded from the WeGame client were being counted twice. We pushed a fix on Friday that fixed this issue and recalculated upload counts. This may have resulted in a sudden decrease in your weekly upload count. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

And here are the winners:

  • 1st Place: TheWiLL (239 videos) wins a $250 Amazon gift certificate
  • 2nd Place: thesettler (149 videos) wins a $100 Amazon gift certificate
  • 3rd Place: Killerbyte (114 videos) wins a $50 Amazon gift certificate
  • 4th Place: Jimi66 (71 videos) wins a $25 Amazon gift certificate
  • 5th Place: Macrador (65 videos) wins a $25 Amazon gift certificate

Thanks again to everyone who participated! Hope to see you all again in the Daily upload contest!

  • I was planning on participating, but after seeing people upload hundreds of videos, I was pretty much like “there’s no way I could win this”.

Also, I have an extremely slow upload speed. :P

  • I know how you feel theinaffablebob, most people just upload the bare minimum length videos they can get away with, and scour the internet for even the stupidest little trailer or snippet, they aren’t really posting videos they normally would post. Hopefully people will get sick of doing this though and it will become truly fair for all.

  • Would be nice to see rule #2 enforced:

“Upload quality videos. Uploading a lot of short videos that lacks real content will get you disqualified.”

The crap being posted is amazing. TheWill takes a single fight and breaks it into 1:02 segments, so each video really counts as 4x what it should. And, simply posting rounds and rounds of the same game, the “quality” wanes quickly.

I uploaded one 7:13 video today, and it took me over two weeks to make. I’d stockpile my videos and upload a batch to possibly make the daily total, but it’s simply not worth the effort under the current situation.
