Browsing the internet today I saw an article that really caught my eye. It’s pretty big, but I’m happy to paraphrase it down for you
- Video games help develop planning skills in children
- Gaming surgeons tend to perform better (and faster) than non-gaming surgeons of comperable experience.
- Gaming encourages team work.
- Gaming encourages critical thinking.
Beyond being pretty obvious to me as a gamer, all these conclusions have been stated again and again. It’s interesting how sedentary the discussion on gaming is. There’s one side that has said for the past ten years that gaming causes violence and immaturity, and there’s one side that has said for the past ten years that it trains valuable skills. Why doesn’t the discussion ever move forward?
But I guess a lot of debates are like that. Watch this video to cheer yourself up!

Maybe both sides of the argument are right. :-P
Gamers could be immature, violent people with high teamwork and critical thinking skills. Ha!
