Public Beta 1.0.7 Released!

Hey WeGamers! We’ve got a real big release for you this week. Plenty of new features:

  • Some users have had crashing errors every time when attempting to record. We believe we’ve resolved this problem!
  • WeGame should now work fine for people behind proxies. Many users from outside the US should now be able to connect through the WeGame client.
  • No more ‘exceptions’ happening.
  • Support added for twelve new games.
    1. Age of Conan
    2. Sins of a Solar Empire
    3. Final Fantasy XI Online
    4. Spore Creature Creator
    5. Unreal Tournament 2004
    6. Flatout 1
    7. Flatout 2
    8. Halo Custom Edition
    9. Tomb Raider Anniversary
    10. Need for Speed Pro Street
    11. Dungeons and Dragons Online
    12. Conquer Online
  • WeGame detection should be more reliable.
  • New autoupdater system, including a pop-up announcement window that will describe changes made to the client and recently supported games.
  • Glitches related to changing capture directory are fixed.
  • Videos uploaded directly from the client to the site should now be higher quality, particularly those recorded in the clients “HD Mode.”

Please let us know if you have any issues with any of the new features!

Fixed Bugs

Crash on Record: A small number of users had a crashing error when they started recording. We believe we’ve resolved this problem. Please contact help@wegame.com if you’re still experiencing this error with the new client.

Known Bugs

The following issues are noted in this release:

  • COM Surrogate Error: Some users are having an error where their WeGame Videos folder generates a “COM Surrogate Error” when opened. This is due to a Vista issue with generating thumbnails. The current solution is to change the WeGame Videos folder to “Detail View” off of “Thumbnail”
  • Videos in Strange Colour: At this time, WeGame is set only to record 32-bit color. Some of our supported games, however (Notably World of Warcraft, Warcraft III and EVE Online) can be set to run on other color settings. This results in some very odd-looking videos. Set the games to 32-bit when you intend to record.
  • Videos Come Out Black with Only Sound: This is an issue with the codec our videos are recorded in. Please download the Motion JPeg Codec (a part of the K-Lite Codec Pack) to view WeGame videos.

Thanks for everyone’s continued support! A special thanks to the users who helped us track down all our bugs and all the users that suggested games. Again, if you have any problems, please shoot us an e-mail at help@wegame.com or visit our Forums.
