WeGame Client Public Beta 1.01 Released!

Hello WeGamers!

Today we released version 1.01 of our client, which will be picked up automatically the next time you start up WeGame. We’ve added a lot of games in this patch based on your feedback. The WeGame client can now record:

  • Everquest 2
  • CoH Series
    • City of Heroes
    • City of Villains
  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Grand Theft Auto Series
    • Vice City
    • San Andreas
  • Star Wars: Galaxies
  • Windlight Client for Second Life
  • All Half Life 2 Mods

Particularly exciting are the Half Life 2 Mods. Total it adds up to about 30 new games that you can record and they’re based entirely on your requests (although it turns out we love City of Heroes.) It’s a lot of games but we’re definitely open to adding more. Currently on the table for addition are:

  • Flatout 2

  • Armed Assault
  • Quake Wars: Enemy Territory
  • Dark Age of Camelot
  • Mu Online
  • Unreal Tournament 3
  • Lineage 2
  • IMVU
  • More casual games

If you’d like to see any other games supported, or if you feel strongly about one of these particular games, contact us at help@wegame.com

Also to address are the bugs we’re aware of in the client:

  • A small number of users are having a Windows spawned error when they attempt to launch WeGame every time. While we have yet to find a resolution, some users have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the client has eliminated the error. We’d like to prevent it altogether, so if this is happening to you please email us at help@wegame.com with all possible information.
  • Some users are having issues with WeGame failing to detect their games running. Please contact us at help@wegame.com to help us discover what is causing this issue.
  • Sound issues, divided into two parts:
    • Some users are not capturing any sound at all. At this time WeGame supports only Stereo Mix, an optional device setting offered on most sound cards. If your sound card does offer Stereo Mix and sound still isn’t being captured, please contact us at help@wegame.com with all possible information.
    • Some users are only capturing microphone sound. This is caused by not having a Stereo Mix device. In some cases a user will have a Stereo Mix device on their sound card but it is being overridden by their USB microphone, which takes over as the input device.

We’re currently working on a solution to all possible sound difficulties, so bear with us :)

Thanks again to everyone who has tried out our software, particularly those of you that have given us feedback. I am, as always, available by email at jeff@wegame.com.
