Hello WeGamers!
Today we released version 1.01 of our client, which will be picked up automatically the next time you start up WeGame. We’ve added a lot of games in this patch based on your feedback. The WeGame client can now record:
- Everquest 2
- CoH Series
- City of Heroes
- City of Villains
- Halo: Combat Evolved
- Grand Theft Auto Series
- Vice City
- San Andreas
- Star Wars: Galaxies
- Windlight Client for Second Life
- All Half Life 2 Mods
Particularly exciting are the Half Life 2 Mods. Total it adds up to about 30 new games that you can record and they’re based entirely on your requests (although it turns out we love City of Heroes.) It’s a lot of games but we’re definitely open to adding more. Currently on the table for addition are:
-
Flatout 2
- Armed Assault
- Quake Wars: Enemy Territory
- Dark Age of Camelot
- Mu Online
- Unreal Tournament 3
- Lineage 2
- IMVU
- More casual games
If you’d like to see any other games supported, or if you feel strongly about one of these particular games, contact us at help@wegame.com
Also to address are the bugs we’re aware of in the client:
- A small number of users are having a Windows spawned error when they attempt to launch WeGame every time. While we have yet to find a resolution, some users have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the client has eliminated the error. We’d like to prevent it altogether, so if this is happening to you please email us at help@wegame.com with all possible information.
- Some users are having issues with WeGame failing to detect their games running. Please contact us at help@wegame.com to help us discover what is causing this issue.
- Sound issues, divided into two parts:
- Some users are not capturing any sound at all. At this time WeGame supports only Stereo Mix, an optional device setting offered on most sound cards. If your sound card does offer Stereo Mix and sound still isn’t being captured, please contact us at help@wegame.com with all possible information.
- Some users are only capturing microphone sound. This is caused by not having a Stereo Mix device. In some cases a user will have a Stereo Mix device on their sound card but it is being overridden by their USB microphone, which takes over as the input device.
We’re currently working on a solution to all possible sound difficulties, so bear with us :)
Thanks again to everyone who has tried out our software, particularly those of you that have given us feedback. I am, as always, available by email at jeff@wegame.com.

Still having issues with launching the program. :(
Also it would be cool if you could add Diablo 2 LoD as a game to record.

Thanks for the City of Heroes support. I’ll have to upgrade my sound card, do you have specific recommendations for a card that you know will work? Running Windows XP.

GadgetDon,
We support any card that has a “Stereo Mix” or a “What U Hear” mixer control. 99% of cards have one of the two, but it’s a driver-specific issue and, therefore, a vendor-specific issue.
If your sound card currently isn’t working, you can either try to find alternate drivers for it (check your sound card/motherboard manufactuer’s site), or you can wait a bit for our next surprise. :)
If you do have a Stereo Mix/What U Hear mixer control under your Recording Control volume settings, but you are unable to record sound within WeGame, please email me at bill@(the site you’re at minus ‘blog.’).
This is an example of a setup we support: http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/8729/audiorecordingcontrolxd4.jpg

When you say “half life 2 mods”, do you also mean the steam-supported Source Engine games, such as Vampire the Masquerade 2, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Sin Episodes 1… ?

I want to see Unreal Tournament 3!

bug at launching here too

Still can’t get it to work after uninstalling/reinstalling.
It loads, but goes straight to one of those Windows send report box things. It doesn’t give a reason for it crashing, wish those things were more useful.

email them and send your bug report log so they can find the problem and fix it faster. The bug report log is a Text Document inside your WeGame folder.
January 16, 2008 at 4:38 am
Hm, I don’t see any text document. I don’t think the program is even getting far enough to make one? O.o
January 16, 2008 at 3:46 pm
And what about starcraft – broodwar? One of the most famous game all over the world? It would be amazing if you can fix it.
I hope you can do it. Cuz’ as far as i know, i tried several times without success.
Thx for all =)

Can we have TrackMania Suite ( Nations, United, Sunrise … ) for the next patch … ? It will be very nice to see all the magical races …

I also get the launch bug. I’m gonna try to download on internet explorer to see if it makes a difference
January 17, 2008 at 1:38 am
it didn’t help to download it on explorer.
January 18, 2008 at 8:31 pm
I don’t like it because there are only selected games…it would be better if we can recode any game we want…

FFXI would be awesome, please.
